On August 16, 2022, the Migration Queensland (MQ) Program became open to all new applications.

Skilled Migration Program
Updates to current EOIs made before August 16, 2022, won’t be considered; only new EOIs submitted on Skill Select will be accepted after 16 August 2022.
Before submitting an EOI (Expression of Interest), all applicants must ensure they have read and comprehended the new requirements specific to their stream or pathway and meet them.
The Skilled Migration Program for the 2022–2023 fiscal year will be accessible to both onshore and offshore candidates and offer career paths for graduates, skilled employees, and small business owners.
Business Migration Program
Migration Queensland has been allocated a restricted interim nomination from the Department of Home Affairs for the business program.

According to Migration Queensland, the state nomination programme is highly competitive, and not everyone will be selected to be nominated. The 188-Business Innovation stream, 188-Investor stream, and 188-Significant Investor stream will remain open for enrollment in the business programme.
