The Movie starts with Nirma Sahastrabuddhe is a translator who works at a travel agency. She buys a new car and gets stolen on the same day.

She meets a thief from the police and he tells her how these policies are useless. He also suggests she visit someone nicknamed artist for help, and the only person able to recover her car within three days. She meets an artist and decides to help her using his broad connection.

When they arrive to collect a car, they find it has already been destroyed. Later, the car wasn’t destroyed but instead gifted to a gangster (Fayez). The gangster has a pet goat named Bahubali. Nirma decides to kidnap the pet and plans to demand a car.

The gangster later finds out who kidnapped him, and Nirma returns the pet because she couldn’t run away from the gangster. She apologizes and says she only wanted her car back but later realized it was wrong to kidnap the pet because Fawaz thought of a pet as a child and must be sad to lose the pet just as sad as she lost her car.

Fayaz is moved and returns the car to her. A different premise. A different way of storytelling. An attempt that needs to be appreciated. Very well-acted & well-crafted.

2) Rajma Chawal

Named after the most popular North Indian meal, Rajma Chawal is a comedy film starring Rishi Kapoor, Anirudh Tanwar, and Amyra Dastur. This Movie shows how 3 old friends go on their long awaited trip to Spain which later turns out as a big eye-opener to how they see the world and in what way they wanna live their lives. Filled with comedy, suspense and emotion this movie touched every viewer’s heart. This is a movie to watch and live by.

4) Kapoor and sons

Kapoor & Sons is one of the most mature movies in Indian cinema. The story revolves around the messed-up family dynamics of the Kapoor family. When 2 brothers visit their family after a few years when their grandfather suffers from a heart attack. The movie depicts several fights along the plotline and how a normal family actually lives, divulging into the bad parts which you can’t see when you observe a family from its surface. Definitely a movie to watch at least once.

5) 3 Idiots

The highest earning movie of its time, 3 idiots spoke to a generation and inspired them to follow their dreams. This light hearted movie is a barrel of laughs and leaves the viewers squealing with laughter.

The plot revolves around 3 best friends trying to get through Engineering College while Rancho, played by Amir Khan, tries to revolutionize the way the students are educated in college by helping them focus more on gaining knowledge than just memorizing for the purpose of passing exams.

The movie, like others directed by Rajkumar Hirani, is comedic but delivers a social message that speaks to multitudes. The star studded cast all portray their roles perfectly and 3 idiots is a movie that if not watched is definitely something you’re missing out on.

This blog looks into the top indian movies on Netflix 1) Chopsticks Chopsticks is a lighthearted Hindi movie on Netflix starring Abhay Deol and Mithila Palkar.
