Dr. Jai Raman is a cardiothoracic surgeon and a global citizen. He currently works at the Austin Hospital & St Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne, Australia, with private affiliations at Warringal, St Vincent's Private & Knox Private Hospitals. He is a Professor of cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Melbourne, Deakin University, Geelong & Melbourne, and Monash University. He continues to be a research professor affiliated with the Center for Developmental Health at the Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. He is also adjunct professor of surgery at the School of Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
