Filmmakers portray horrific tales by utilising supernatural themes and natural elements. We’ve put together a selection of horror films that movie fans can watch this weekend on OTT platforms and have popcorn-guzzling time.
01. It
Where to watch?: On Netflix.
The movie, which Andy Muschietti directed, features Bill Skarsgard, Jaeden Martell, Finn Wolfhard, and Sophia Lillis. It is based on Stephen King’s adaptation of the book, and it takes place in a town where certain misfits are terrorised by a clown-like monster that emerges from the sewer. But there’s more going on than first appears, and the youngsters realise that they must conquer their inner demons to fight against the true devil.
02. The Conjuring
Where to watch?: On Netflix.
The family that moves into the old house is the movie’s focus that lays the foundation of the Conjuring universe (always the perfect setting for a good horror story). But before things take a terrible turn, investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren must assist the family after a string of unexplained events occur. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson both star in the movie.
03. Train to Busan
Where to watch?: On Amazon Prime Video.
Korean zombie horror is the definition of horror. A zombie epidemic is shown in the survival story Train to Busan, which follows a father (Gong Yoo) and a kid aboard a train. Before they turn into flesh-eating creatures, they must put their differences aside and cooperate with the remaining survivors.
04. World War Z

Adapted from the title of Max Brooks’ novel of the same name, World War Z is an American action horror film directed by Marc Forster. Brad Pitt plays Gerry Lane in World War Z, a former United Nations investigator who must travel the globe searching for answers to stop the current zombie pandemic. It has a screenplay by Drew Goddard, Matthew Michael Carnahan and Damon Lindelof.
05. Antlers
Where to watch? : On Disney Plus Hotstar.
Antlers tell the tale of an Oregon small-town teacher. She decides to help them when she learns that a young student is hiding a dreadful secret that could have uncontrollable consequences.
