Public holidays in Australian Capital Territory for 2023

Central Australia sees approximately 14 public holidays for the calendar year 2023, while the number could’ve been a little higher, it’s sufficient. It’s sufficient primarily because there are multiple occasions in the 2023 calendar where you can see consecutive holidays— most notable being Good Friday (7th April) till Easter Sunday (10th April). If you’re planning for a mini-vacation, we highly recommend Good Friday for obvious reasons. But for now, let’s focus on all the available public holidays for Central Australia as of 2023, let’s take a look at them.

The aforementioned holidays are accurate during the time of publication; but could be subjected to change depending on the Australian Central Territory official changes.

Important Notes:

• Due to the New year’s day falling on Sunday, the following Monday is also added as an additional public holiday.
• Canberra day holiday is to celebrate the naming of Australia’s capital, that had taken place in 1913.
• Anzac day holiday is in remembrance of Australian and New Zealand soldiers who fought and died for their country.
• Reconciliation Day holiday is a replacement of Family and Community Day holiday, started in 2018.
