Later the society and the temple authority merged together to form the Hindu Mandir Association of Queensland. The deity idols inside the temple were consecrated in 2004.

03. Sri Selva Vinayakar Temple, South Maclean

IN 1986, Hindu Ahlyan Sangham was founded with the intention of constructing a temple to serve Brisbane’s expanding Indian community. The group acquired 4.5 acres of property in 1990 near South Maclean, 35 kilometres south of Brisbane City. The construction began in 1992 in accordance with Indian traditional temple building methods and this temple was officially founded on June 10,1993.The idols and dazzling doors were purchased from south India. Moreover, the temple construction employed only Indian sculptors.

In addition to ritual practices, the temple acts as a hub for academic and cultural events. It also hosts a collection of religious texts.

04. Shree Venkatesa Durga Temple

Dedicated to Goddess Durga, the temple indeed is a sign of her ‘Devi Shakti’. The term “Durga” in Sanskrit denotes a castle or a place that is safe and secure.
