The winners of the various categories for the Australia Post Online Retailer Industry Awards (ORIAS) for 2022 were announced at a gala dinner that was held at the International Convention Centre in Sydney following the two-day conference and exhibition for Online Retailers.

Numerous executives from the retail industry, including The Iconic CEO Erica Berchtold and Showpo creator Jane Lu, attended the sold-out event, which was emceed by Australian actor and television host Robert Mills.

Co-founders Anaita Sarkar and Vikram Davé attended the event with the rest of the team to accept the prize on behalf of Hero Packaging, which also received a nomination for Best Small Independent Retailer. Hero Packaging won the Best B2B Online Retailer award.

After winning the prize, Sarkar said that the team “certainly wasn’t anticipating it.”

Days after releasing their most recent product, AquaHero, a dissolvable packaging solution, the founder said, “We are extremely happy and honoured to receive Best B2B Online Retailer.”

Thanking everyone who contributed to their company’s success, Anaita said:

“I’ve always admired people like Jane Lu, Julie Mathers, and Mark Baartse, and I’ve always wanted to launch a company that I’m proud of. I spent a lot of time learning and using e-comm techniques and testing, failing, and re-testing strategies, so hearing our name called out was an experience I’ll never forget.”

In Australia and around the world, Vik and Anaita are “dedicated to eradicating plastic from packaging and shipping.”

Noted on their website:

“We have prevented using more than 16,000,000 plastic mailers thus far. We currently ship over 4,000 HEROPACKs daily, which is rising quickly.

Vik and Anaita founded Hero to realize that excessive amounts of plastic were being used for packaging goods in their initial e-commerce retail venture.
