Overview
In the ongoing Premier League, South Hampton wins against Chelsea with 2-1 score.
With Southampton winning 2-1 at St. Mary’s, Chelsea suffered their second consecutive away in Premier League play. Adam Armstrong’s goal in the final seconds of the first half was the deciding factor.
Particularly in the second half when Thomas Tuchel tried to find any loose ends to spark a comeback, the Blues seemed completely disjointed. That fell short, and when Chelsea returns to Stamford Bridge, they are left to pick up the pieces once more.
Despite his early problems, Kai Havertz was granted a second chance to start the game, but he failed to instil hope for the future.
Although the Blues were kept moving forward by Hakim Ziyech, who may have moved before the deadline, and his inventiveness, Raheem Sterling eventually received little support in order to build on his game-opening goal for England.

Southampton, on the other hand, played cohesively and brutally as they pressured Chelsea in possession for the entire 90 minutes. Romeo Lavia’s equaliser was a beautiful strike, and the Belgian scored his first goal for the Saints on a day when he contributed significantly more than just that one incident.
With the loss, the Blues drop to eighth place in the Premier League standings, moving Southampton up to seventh. With his third goal of the short season, former Manchester City forward Sterling will have even more pressure on him while others around him struggle.
